We were approached by our client having recently purchased a new home for their family within leafy Muswell Hill in the London Borough of Haringey.

The project involved the addition of a rear extension and comprehensive internal refurbishment as we curated the space for the new owners. An iterative design process led us to a building form which responds to space and light. Glazed openings frame views of the garden, sky and create transparency from front to back. The project plays with custom joinery storage as we control what is concealed and displayed.

Our role extended to provide design support with the external spaces given the importance of the visual and physical connection between inside and outside. We adopted a fabric first approach to the environmental design with thermal improvement combined with energy generation using an Air Source Heat Pump.
