We were approached by a young, active family looking to build a life in their new home outside of London. The house is on a desirable tree lined street, but in desperate need of an overhaul to revitalise the building.

We created a side extension and L-shaped roof extension, with internal refurbishment throughout. We navigated the sensitivities of the Conservation Area with Article 4 Direction to successfully achieve these transformative additions.

Generous glazing at ground floor, to both the roof and rear of the extension, illuminate the space. The architecture and interiors balance contemporary touches with traditional features, such as the new stair with ribbon-like oak handrail and brass spindles. The zinc roof extension adds two additional bedrooms and a shower room, with views across the garden.
